Priority registration allows students to schedule classes early to meet disability-related needs or arrange accommodations that require advance notice, such as accessible formats or interpreting services. Students who are registered with ODS, and whose files are determined to be complete, receive priority registration as an accommodation.
Eligibility
- Available to undergraduate students with finalized accommodations
- Not available to students with temporary or conditional accommodations, entering freshmen, or graduate students
Procedures
- ODS updates registration time tickets and emails students each semester with the priority registration date
- Students must:
- Check their registration status in myBama. Clear any holds preventing registration and ensure your registration time ticket reflects the priority registration date. The Registrar’s office (registrar@ua.edu); 205-348-2020; 206 Student Services Center) can assist students with reviewing registration time tickets and holds.
- Schedule early advising to remove registration PINs. Advising schedules fill up quickly, so students are encouraged to contact their advisor early each semester in order to be advised before the priority registration date. Only an academic advisor can remove the registration PIN
- Contact their Academic Advisor for course planning. Students should consult DegreeWorks or the academic department of their major to determine their assigned advisor. Advising locations for each school or college can be viewed online.
