Meet the Accommodations Team

Accommodations Specialists are your primary point of contact for questions about academic accommodations. Their role is to help facilitate equal access to the educational environmental by reviewing accommodation requests, determining reasonable accommodations based on documentation and individual circumstances, and helping students successfully navigate the accommodations process.

Accommodations Specialists work with students to:

• Determine appropriate academic accommodations based on documentation and disability-related barriers.
• Explain how accommodations work and how to use them effectively.
• Educate students about their rights and responsibilities in the accommodations process.
• Help students communicate with faculty about accommodations and develop effective self-advocacy skills.
• Assist in addressing challenges, misunderstandings, or questions relating to approved accommodations.

Because Accommodations Specialists focus specifically on academic accommodations, they often work in partnership with other campus offices to ensure students receive comprehensive support. Depending on your needs, we may connect you with:

• Academic advisors for course selection, registration, degree planning, and academic policies.
• Counseling and mental health resources for emotional support, crisis intervention, and ongoing counseling services.
• Tutoring, coaching, and academic support resources to strengthen study strategies, time management, and academic skills.
• Other campus resources that coordinate non-academic accommodations, such as housing, dining, transportation, or employment-related supports.
