ODS serves as the central point of contact for UA students with disabilities seeking academic accommodation. ODS works with faculty and other members of the University community to provide individualized accommodations and support services while promoting student responsibility and self-advocacy.
Important Dates
Midterm grades are submitted for 100- and 200-level courses and can be viewed in myBama.
Schedule an early advising appointment to have your registration PIN cleared.
4:45pm is the deadline to send accommodation letters and schedule exams at ODS.

A resource for students, the handbook contains procedures, rights and responsibilities, and info about accommodations.
Have you requested accommodations this semester?
Accommodation Letters
Log in to the ODS Online Portal to send accommodation letters for each class in which you need accommodations.
Send letters at the beginning of each semester. Accommodations cannot be retroactively applied to coursework and activities that have already taken place.
Talk to Instructors
Communicate with instructors to ensure you understand how your accommodations will be provided in each course.
Follow-up
Follow-up as needed. For example, students may need to schedule exams at the ODS Testing Center, review Flex Plans, etc.
Reach out to your Accommodations Specialist as needed with questions or concerns.
Student Newsletter
The newsletter is distributed via email two to three times per semester to deliver reminders to students and announce upcoming events.
Conflict Resolution
Students who experience a concern regarding their accommodations, instructors, ODS staff, or potential disability discrimination
Records Request
If you need to request copies of documentation or a letter verifying accommodations received at UA, please complete a Records Request.
Standardized Exams
If you need to request accommodations on a standardized exam, review procedures from the testing agency and complete a request form.
