Residual ACT (R-ACT)

Before testing arrangements can be made for a student with a disability, ODS must verify that a disability is present and determine what testing accommodations can be offered.  Student’s must provide documentation of disability created by a professional whose credentials are appropriate to the diagnosis (i.e., physician for a physical disability; learning disability specialist or psychologist for a learning disability).

Students should plan for a 2-4 week review process.  Documentation of disability can be submitted to ods@ua.edu.  Student should mention that they are seeking accommodations on the R-ACT.

Per R-ACT guidelines, the accommodations for Residual Testing are:

  • Extended time
  • Marking responses in test booklet
  • An interpreter to sign spoken instructions
  • Food, drink, or medication (for medical conditions)
